Back by popular (?) demand !

Brian's Thursday Night Hill Ride

Time: 5:30 pm Thursday July 3rd - ready to ride (or close to it).

Place: 4 Lochatong Rd., Ewing NJ 08628.

Phone: 609-273-3156

Rain or threat of imminent thunderstorms at ride time cancels (hills aren't good places to be on during electrical storms!).

Route: Approx. 30 miles of the local roads north of Trenton. Plan on saying "hillo" to some old friends like Poor Farm, Pleasant Valley and Goat Hill Roads with maybe a special surprise thrown in at the end depending on how we do. The "No Drop / No Cuesheet" rule will be in effect. However, the "No Insult / No Ridicule" rule has been waived for the evening and participants are expected to verbally harass all and sundry.

Gatorade available pre-ride and cold drinks available post-ride.

Dostoyevsky’s Ride: Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoyevsky was once heard to opine “Suffering is origin of consciousness.” Well, the Russian novelist and all around brooding deep thinker would surely would love this ride, which is an expanded version of our current, beloved Anchor House Training Ride. How expanded, you ask? Well, we’ll add a few additional miles, a few more climbs and even a trek through downtown Hopewell so we can hone out riding-in-traffic skills. Since we’ll cover about 75 miles in all, we’ll leave at 7:30 a.m. NO DROP RULE WILL BE IN EFFECT. To learn more, check http://blog.nj.com/times_anchorhouse/ on Wednesday or Thursday.

(If you have a training ride you would like to invite others to, email PeteHarris@aol.com.)

NOTE: THESE RIDES ARE NOT ENDORSED BY OR SUPPORTED BY THE RIDE FOR RUNAWAYS.  THESE ARE ENTIRELY VOLUNTARY CHOICES ON THE PART OF THE PARTICIPANTS.
